La serie tv Friday Night Lights (in Italia High School Team) segue le vicende dei " Dillon Panthers ", una squadra liceale di football che si trova nell'immaginaria città di Dillon, in Texas. Usa questa fittizia piccola comunità per descrivere la vita della classe media americana, unitamente a una profonda esplorazione caratteriale dei personaggi.
Il telefilm ha ricevuto da subito critiche molto favorevoli . Virginia Heffernan scrisse sul New York Times che " se la stagione assomiglia anche solo vagamente all'episodio pilota, this new series about a team of high school football could be great - and not just television great sense, but as a great poem or a painting .
